Useless Information

We were going to call this "Dave Prefers Funnyman", but
we thought that might be giving a drummer too much
attention.

Funnyman

This door won't budge there's got to another way
Gone round back there's got to be another way
Like a charcoal memory there's nothing clear he sees
So he packs his shot and lowers his head and he is at a loss for a lead

The funny man's on the corner singing "drink my tea"
And he stops and thinks of other ways in the tree
It occurs to him he didn't see the sign and Stevens & Day
So he turns around, taps into the taste, and he is feeling free

It's always been there, always been something there
He never believed that she never did care
All those freak accidents never meant much to him
Those freak songs never bothered him
He only really wanted to get in the door, he only really wanted one step more

He takes another look around
Soaks it in and decides he'll try again 'cause we all love the re-pain
Doncha think it's nice, it's almost criminal
Belonging Kansas City bound, but my heart's stuck in this bleeding town
